General Settings Tab
After you have configured the agent module you need to configure
the Administrator’s Application to correctly receive and obtain XML
files. To do this, run the Expert Network
Inventory (eni.exe) and select
System->Preferences of the Main
The following window will be displayed:
First, you need to specify the folder(s) where
XML files will be copied. To do this, click the
Add Path button at the top of the
window and enter the path to folder with XML
files. You can have several folders at different places.
Second, the Path to the report folder edit control
allows you to specify the path to the folder where the program
reports are. The default value is the Reports
Data Management Tab
If some of your XML files are stored on an
FTP server or comes from remote computers by email
you need to switch onto the Data Management Tab
and setup the settings for these connections.
For the FTP connection, you must specify the host
name (domain or IP), directory
with XML-files, your login and password.
To get XML files by e-mail enter the server name,
type (POP3), your account name and
These setting are defined during installation and shouldn't be
changed unless absolutely necessary. The first drop down box allows
you to change the database server type. Default choice is embedded
server. It is simple and needs nothing to work.
If you already have the Firebird server installed
in your system you can use local or remote server type which gives
you additional benefits such as multiple access to the database
from different computers.
When using the embedded or local database server you should specify
the path to the system database. By default it is stored in the
\Users\Public\Documents\ExpertUnion.Com\Expert Network Inventory\DB subdirectory on the system disk.
To have access to the database installed on the remote server you
have to switch the Server Type combobox to "Remote Firebird Server" and enter the remote server name in the Server Name field. This string must contain the server name or IP
Also type the full filename to the database file (eni.fdb) in the edit box below.
If needed, you can change the authentification login and
password (for the newly created database only!).
If you have changed the setting, it is recommended to test the
connection by clicking the Test Connection button.
